This past week, our final stories were due. I was lucky that I was ahead with my first story, and I was able to get my b-roll filmed and edited together way before the due date. On Monday afternoon (9/25), I went back to Stock and Grain to gather my last two interviews for my package and it was more than successful. I was extremely prepared with my questions for both of my sources. I did a lot of prior background research on each of my sources, Elizabeth and Ericka, so that they opened up to me more since they could tell I did my research. The interviews were very informative and I also was able to put together my entire package later that night and get it submitted on blackboard. I felt very confident with my first story and I am looking forward to getting ahead on my second story.
I also spent a lot of time outside of class developing more research and connecting with sources for my second story on the new Congdon Yards building and the collaboration with The Art Gallery (TAG). I put together a large google document full of research, facts, history and potential/credible sources. This week, my goal will be to check out the exhibit in person at some point and gather some photos and videos.
I also wanted to stay up to date with my beat news updates as well, so I checked in with my top credible courses. Some news that stood out to me is the 13th annual GTCC Foundation Golf Classic is now scheduled for the end of October (the 24-25) at the Grandover Resort. I also read that the High Point Historical Museum is setting up dates and spooky events for the fall season.
